K-12 Education Funding 101

One of the biggest decisions the Nevada Legislature will face in 2015 is how its antiquated 1967 Funding Formula should be revised. They will also be determining whether our tax dollars — given in the name of education — will STAY in education, rather than being reverted back into the State’s General Fund.

If you wonder how many millions of dollars that amounts to, and why Nevada’s students are at the bottom of the nation’s per-pupil spending list, then please join us at HOPE’s next Lunch & Learn. Guest Speaker Jeremy Aguero, Principal Analyst at Applied Analysis will help us to understand the often-confusing world of education funding. We’ll serve up a light nosh and a noggin’ full of great info from Jeremy on Wednesday, Jan. 21 @ noon.
