NV receives “F” for student funding
Quality Counts State Report Card ranks Nevada dead last for Students’ Chance of Success. NV received grades of “F” for student funding (46% of the national average) and K-12 Achievement status.
The Chance-for-Success Index analyzes 13 individual indicators that include preparation in early childhood, the performance of the public schools, and educational and economic outcomes in adulthood. State scores range from 91.4 (Massachusetts, earning the only A-minus) to 65.7 (Nevada, with a D). A closer examination of the results shows that the driving force behind the state rankings is related to formal education. There is no question, that when it comes to the quality of formal education in Nevada for Kindergarten through 12th grades there is no place to go but up.
