Dec. 15, 2014, Parent Advocacy Group Brainstorms Education Funding Options, Las Vegas Review-Journal/The View
We’ve tried everything, but the State has given parents like me no other option. It is time for Nevada to do what is right for our students.”
I don’t feel like (the Legislature) showed a strong support of education and our needs by what happened this session.”
We need a new funding formula that provides a base amount that is enough to cover all the requirements and mandates the state puts forth and allows our kids to graduate and be successful."
All over Nevada, districts are increasing class sizes, cutting budgets and electives and letting go of teachers and support staff employees just to balance budget shortfalls. There are currently no winners in our K-12 funding system and those suffering the most are our students."
